Free family fitness sessions at the Bay Health Festivals Sunday Fun Day in Kendal

Discover ways of living a happier, healthier lifestyle when Bay Health Festivals hosts its Sunday Fun Day at Kendal Leisure Centre on Sunday October 27.

Organised by University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with leisure centre management company Better, the event offers fun healthy activities for all ages.

Attractions include free sport activities, arts and crafts, smoothie bike, bouncy castle and more.

Families can also take advantage of free health and wellbeing checks and meet lots of organisations helping to support health and wellbeing from all over the region.

UHMBT Lead Chaplain Ian Dewar, who launched Bay Health Festivals, said: “We created Bay Health Festivals to encourage conversation about every aspect of health.

“Since we launched in 2016 we have engaged with thousands of people around the Morecambe Bay area, inspiring small changes that make a big difference to life, health and happiness.

“This year’s Family Fun Day promises to be a brilliant day out with something for everyone, and we’re very grateful to our partners at Kendal Leisure Centre as well as all our exhibitors for coming together for such a fantastic event.”

Kendal Leisure Centre’s Better Health and Communities Manager Danielle Vipond Houghton said: “This event offers our local community a chance to explore new activities, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones, whilst having the opportunity to try different types of physical activity and connecting with a range of organisations and charities – there is something for everyone.

“Most importantly, we aim to create a fun and engaging atmosphere where families and individuals can enjoy a lively, fun-filled day and take home valuable health messages to live longer in better health.”

The Family Fun Day takes place at Kendal Leisure Centre from 10.30am to 2.30pm on Sunday October 27.
